The most common blaster rifle associated with Imperial Sandtroopers is the DLT-19. This prop was made from a German MG-34 machine gun. This gun was widely used by German troops during WWII and was in production from 1934 until 1945.

The only modification to the gun was the addition of rubber grips added to two sections of the barrel covering the vent holes. These were presumably windshield wiper blades from an old British vehicle.

This blaster rifle was also used by Stormtroopers on the Death Star. One of the Stormtroopers searching the Millenium Falcon carries a DLT-19 and there is a rack of four of them in the Death Star control room. Han Solo, while disguised as a Stormtrooper, carried this gun as he and Luke took Chewbacca to Detention Block AA23. Chewbacca later grabbed it when Han yelled "Look out he's loose!" and blasted the detention block security systems.

Appearing again during The Empire Strikes Back, this rifle was held by the bounty hunter 4-LOM.
