A New Hope

The only part we know so far for the full size X-wing is located on the starboard side of the dashboard. Mounted there is a Graflex 3-Cell Sychronizer Battery Case, Catalog No. 2773. This model flash is also known as a Graflite.

There is black version of this flash and a plain aluminum version. We are not positive which versions were used.

The aluminum one seems to have been used for ANH and painted completely black- mounting clamps and all. The clamp on the left in the photo above is placed to cover the word "Graflex" on the side of the flash. The topmost orange stripe covers the words " Do not use with 110 V."

We assume the ESB version was probably the black version of the flash since the clamps were not painted. This time tape (possibly the same chrome tape used on the lightsabers) covers the word "Graflex" and the clamp is placed lower down. Again, the topmost orange stripe covers the words " Do not use with 110 V."
